The calculator uses a simple person-day model. It is intentionally visible, not a black box. If your household thinks rent should stay out, switch it off. If a cost should not be shared, leave it out.

Does this decide what a guest legally owes?+
No. It estimates a proportional contribution to costs you choose to include. Lease rules and legal obligations are separate.
Should I include rent?+
Only if that matches the household’s own idea of fairness. Rent is off by default because a frequent guest and a tenant are not automatically the same thing.
What happens to my email?+
